Helping women “Love the Skin They’re In” is a big part of my mission at Red Barn Wellness because I want you to feel beautiful and confident inside and out!

Do you struggle with confidence?

Let’s look at the definition:

“Confidence is the state of feeling certain about the truth of something; a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.”

Do you feel confident about the truth of how beautiful a person you are? Like really believe how wonderful you are inside and out?

I know… it can be hard. I struggle with confidence at times too. I think this is another reason why I want you to love the skin you’re in. I want to love the skin I’m in too and the more I support you, the more I support myself.

I’ve started growing out my hair a little! I’m trying it on for size to see how it makes me feel in my skin.

I was out doing errands and stopped to drop off some papers at an office. I had to ring a bell for assistance. As I waited for someone to assist me, I took a moment to check in with myself and notice what a lovely day it was: the sun was shining and I felt good! Then I began to feel self-conscious (the opposite of confident!) and began doubting myself and my new hairstyle.

I was uncomfortable in my skin for a few moments as the negative self-talk found its way in, but before too long this lovely woman came out and the first thing she said was,

“I just have to tell you that you look beautiful. You look so healthy and vibrant. I wish I could be so lucky.”

It was like a friend on the playground coming up out of the blue to defend me against the bully saying mean things. And…it was my ability to believe her that brought me out of feeling slightly self conscious about my “new do” and back into self confidence. We even had a conversation about it all and how important it is to feel good about ourselves. It was such a special time lifting each other up and connecting. Eye to eye and heart to heart.

I’ve struggled with redness and pigmentation on my skin for years. I was a sun goddess in my youth and didn't realize the impact the sun had on the health of my skin.

When I first noticed these changes in my skin, I was a makeup artist and I covered my imperfections with heavy makeup.

I was fascinated by the way the skin worked and wanted to know how to correct and improve these issues that were concerning women and men so they wouldn’t be self conscious and lack confidence. I decided to go to Aesthetic School as I knew I needed more education in order to share my passion for skin care so I could help other people achieve the same results.

I’ve been in the Skin Care Field practicing Medical Aesthetics for over 30 years and love working with my patients to get the healthiest skin possible and to Love the Skin They're in!

*A few of the biggest concerns of my patients are redness, Rosacea, Pigmentation and age spots.

Once we know that your skin is ready, the best approach to balance your skin tone is to move ahead with IPL treatments to reduce the redness, refine pore, stimulate collagen and give your skin a healthy, even glow. This is done in a series and can be performed in conjunction with peels, topical serums and even Impulse Light Therapy for more refinement and even more noticeable results.

Here are a few tips for the dryness that many experience this time of year…

The main goal is to keep your skin balanced, hydrated and the barrier of your skin protected. A consistent daily skincare regimen (I love Epoince!) will help nourish and protect and drinking ½ your weight in ounces of water 💦 will help moisturize from the inside out.

Did you know that this is the best time of year to treat issues such as unwanted pigment, redness or facial hair? It’s best to not have too much sun ☀️ exposure post IPL or Laser Hair Removal treatment so these winter months can be a great time to accomplish your skincare goals.

I have a lot of tools in my toolbox to keep your skin healthy and glowing.

February is here. I can't believe it. How did the first month of 2023 go for you?

People are so excited for a new beginning in January… they sometimes set these lofty goals to change their life or a part of it and fall short. If you're feeling like you're not not where you wanted to be... I need to tell you, you can begin anew any day at any time. It's up to you.

You may realize that you don’t need to take something OUT, but rather add something IN to make your life more fulfilling.

Like adding in more anti-inflammatory foods to make your body work like a finely oiled machine or a girls night laughing to boost your endorphins or even a nourishing facial for more you time.

Sometimes it takes time after the busyness of the holidays to come up with a clear plan that works for you. Something that is important and works for only you… nothing cookie cutter but specific to where you are in your life.

Everything in moderation…
